Frequently asked questions

Is this a bootcamp?

No. It's a practitioner-led, capability-building program. We teach the job — durable database and AI skills — and the certification follows. If you want to cram for an exam in 30 days, this isn't it.

How long does it take?

The Microsoft edition is roughly 95–110 hours of self-paced study and labs across five sub-courses, plus flipped-classroom live sessions. You move at your own pace; cohorts add structure and live time.

Do I need to be a SQL expert already?

No. The optional Foundations sub-course teaches SQL from first principles. Take the free placement assessment and it tells you whether to start there or skip ahead.

What do I need for the labs?

A GitHub account. Labs run in Docker dev containers via GitHub Codespaces (Microsoft edition) or LocalStack (AWS edition), so there's minimal managed-cloud spend and the same environment every time.

Which certification do I earn?

The Microsoft edition prepares you for Microsoft Certified: SQL AI Developer Associate (exam DP-800). The AWS edition targets AWS Certified Data Engineer – Associate (DEA-C01), plus an optional GenAI Developer – Professional (AIP-C01). Exam fees are paid directly to the vendor.

When does the AWS edition launch?

The AWS edition is scoped and in development. Leave your email and we'll tell you the moment it opens.
